Virden Recreation & Watersports roots became firmly planted more than 55 years ago in a small garage business when Mr. Emil Hoffman, the owner of McGuffins Garage, began selling snowmobiles. In the late 60's the business moved to its former location at 421 King Street East. It was then called Hoffman's Marina, and boats were added to the inventory.

In 1973, Hoffman's Marina was sold to Bruce Biesenthal. He then changed the name to Bruce's Four Seasons and added travel trailers, fifth wheels, and truck campers to the line-up. Business boomed as the ATV industry hit full speed and the business became well known as one of the region's best dealerships.

In 1983, Peter Dillon and Don Gray purchased the business from Bruce. Then in 1992, the two partners restructured their company to specialize in travel trailers and fifth wheels. Four Seasons condensed their operations into the Datsun building (MTS Connect Store) selling only RVs. The original location at 421 King Street was then sold to Norman Murray with the Honda and Marine lines.

Norman, who had been the head marine mechanic at Four Seasons since late 1979, took helm of a ship consisting of 7 employees. Norman, a certified master technician, continued to provide the top line quality customer service and unbeatable product lines that customers had come to know and respect from the dealership.

Since 1992 the dealership has undergone some minor changes such as ownership partners and managerial staff and it continues to grow and become stronger with every change. Virden Recreation & Watersports now handles both Bayliner, Sea Ray and Heyday fiberglass boats, Lund aluminum boats, and Harris pontoons. Honda and Mercury marine engines, a full line of Honda ATV's, power equipment, and motorcycles, as well as snowmobiles.

In 2008 Virden Recreation & Watersports purchased property at 210 Frontage Road East. A new facility was started in early spring of 2013 and completed July 2014. The relocation to a highway store will serve to increase exposure of the business and allow for Virden Recreation & Watersports to expand its operations to meet the needs of its growing customer base.

Virden Recreation & Watersports has always, and will continue to strive to provide the best customer service possible with Sales, Parts, Service, and Administration that our valued customers have become accustomed to. We believe in providing the best experience and value that we can, along with exceptional service. Weekly meetings with our staff, getting input from all of our experienced team members, along with putting customers first, are some of the reasons we have become one of the best customer satisfaction dealerships in the industry.

Today, the Virden Recreation & Watersports team consists of four working partners. Norman Murray is our General Manager/ Partner. Shane Murray is our Service Manager/ Partner. Brent Murray, our Senior Technician/ Partner. Erik Elliott is our Parts Manager/ Partner. The remaining team members consist of the Sales Manager, Sales Specialist, F&I Manager/ Office Manager, Parts Advisor, 2 Technicians, Lot Personal, Detail Professional, and Office Administrator.
